One of TMP’s recent task was to finish full overhaul of 28MW steam turbine rotor. Inspection (RI) phase has done according to API 612 special purpose steam turbine and API 687 rotor repairs.
Overhaul process includes rotor disassembly, dimensional and geometrical inspection, journal repairing by HVOF method and grinding to accurate size, tolerance and surface finish, manufacturing and replacing all blades and spacers, final assembly, machining and sizing of each stage, balancing and over speed test.
This is one of the most structured and strictly controlled major overhaul process.
This rotor is installed to operate in one of the largest petrochemical plant in the southern region of Iran.
